Worship Academy Roadshow - Hull 2012

Saturday 26th May 2012 saw me attend my first Worship Academy Roadshow as a Worship Academy Ambassador, along with fellow Ambassador Diane Devine. Not knowing quite what to expect and feeling a little nervous, we started setting up at New Life Church in Hull. It was fantastic to meet up with old friends and part of Worship Academy's leadership team, Matt and Alison Key. Angie Lendon and the team from New Life Church were very welcoming and helped to make the whole day such a success!

We started off with an awesome time of worship which made a deep connection with the spirit of God straight away. God was in the house! I always love worshipping with others who are part of worship teams and those who 'get it' - those who have a deeper understanding of what worship is all about. The day saw Alison Key, one of Worship Academy's tutors, give a fantastic and challenging talk about 'Integrity of Heart' based on the Psalms. Then we split into two groups to do some practical sessions: a vocal workshop given by Angie Lendon and a psalm writing workshop given by Alison. Feedback from delegates was very positive about both sessions.

After lunch we watched a DVD teaching by Chris Bowater, the founder and head of Worship Academy international. After this past Worship Academy students, including myself, gave a 5 minute testimony about the impact attending the Worship Academy course has had on our lives.

All in all it was a great day. A sense of unity was already developing between the delegates who had come from a wide variety of church denominations and expressions from around the local area. It was also clear that the Holy Spirit was at work and that God was touching people's lives. Truly an excellent taster session of what  Worship Academy is all about - getting real with God!

I can't wait for the next Roadshow in Solihul in Birmingham in just a couple of weeks.
